We, in a way, represent the will of the people and organised a campaign (1990-94) to conserve the scenic Man Sagar Lake (Jal Mahal), located at the northern fringe of this pink city (Jaipur). Inspired by a visit (1996) to the British Birdwatching Fair (Rutland, Oakham, Leics), we initiated the Indian Birding Fair.

It clicked. Today you see government implementing part of what had been suggested to it -- conservation measures, and supporting the Birding Fair. The local school students, teachers and parents have emerged as champions of this novel event. Overseas experts (www.eecg.org, www.educators.fws.gov, www.savingcranes.org, www.birdfair.org.uk) are chipping in. It is Natural Heritage Conservation with definite purpose.
